We are pleased to announce the Theta Alpha Alumni Chapter's official registration with the national fraternity. As a result, we are embarking on a campaign to grow the membership of our alumni organization. Already, we have begun to lay the logistical groundwork for the Alumni Chapter to grow and prosper.
In January 2005, a group of Theta Alpha Alumni consisting of Ashley Edwards, Ryan Bice and Bill Davis, traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina for the national fraternity’s Mid-Year program. There, we received specific training on alumni chapter formation and operations. Later in January, a group of Theta Alpha Alumni met and approved our Alumni Chapter’s operating constitution and bylaws. Since then, we have finalized other logistical concerns, such as our bank accounts and operating records.
Also, the Theta Alpha Alumni Chapter held its Spring alumni event on April 16th in conjunction with the annual Black and Gold Southern Miss Spring Football Game. The event was well-attended by alumni and active members alike. The Alumni Chapter held its annual Homecoming Meeting on Saturday, October 15th. Many alumni were in attendance, and the tailgating event following the meeting was a great success.
Today, we are asking for your help in ensuring that our Alumni Chapter will remain a viable entity. We are seeking to update the information on our membership rolls, and we are making it possible for willing alumni to donate dues and/or financial gifts to the Alumni Chapter. We sincerely appreciate your help, and we are looking forward to your active membership in the Theta Alpha Alumni Chapter.
