Housing Campaign Case Statement

The Goal

The reason for our project is to provide adequate housing for the future generations of brothers in the Theta Alpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. Construction and maintenance of a new chapter house is a large initiative with many responsibilities. As a result, we have an excellent opportunity to help build a facility that will better suit our chapter and accommodate it in the right way. Our goal is to build a new chapter house that will be a landmark on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi for all brothers of Pi Kappa Phi to share. Once complete, we will maintain our competitive edge by offering a well-rounded experience in a safe and comfortable residential facility that is conducive to academic as well as social and extra-curricular activities that help develop the character of tomorrow’s leaders.

Our History

Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity chartered the Theta Alpha chapter at the University of Southern Mississippi in April of 1999. The current chapter house is at 208 Ross Boulevard. For more than 10 years, over 225 young men have found a second home at Theta Alpha chapter house of Pi Kappa Phi.

The Chapter Today

Today, Theta Alpha is a model chapter, boasting one of the largest fraternity memberships at the University of Southern Mississippi! The men are consistently in the top tier, if not leading, in academics, intramurals, and campus leadership. The chapter is also highly engaged in philanthropic and community service projects. At the same time, the group maintains positive social interaction with numerous sororities and peer members of the Southern Miss Greek community.

Our Future…..Where You Come In

Our chapter has been a shining example of fraternal excellence at the University of Southern Mississippi in recent years. However, the chapter house is showing its age, and it is time to move on to bigger and better things. But our vision encompasses more than just immediate needs. This is our opportunity to modernize and expand our beloved chapter home to position Theta Alpha for the next 50 years at the University of Southern Mississippi.

A successful project will take the dedication and support of each of us, as members of Theta Alpha. Make no mistake—we cannot succeed without your help. This is no small project. The construction budget is at minimum $500,000! We must raise at least $100,000 and we need to exceed that goal, if at all possible, to ensure that the final mortgage is manageable for the undergraduate chapter members. To ensure success we need you, our brother, to make the best pledge you are comfortable with, payable over five years.
